Who we are

A foundation built with compassion—and designed for lasting impact.

International Lahu Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to helping Lahu families create a more secure future while honoring their identity and traditions.

Our work begins by listening. We collaborate with village leaders and trusted local partners so each program responds to real priorities, strengthens local ownership, and protects the dignity of every person served.

Why this work matters

For many families, opportunity is hours—or generations—away.

Some Lahu villages are so remote that there is no nearby town. Children may have limited access to school. Families work hard with few ways to build dependable income. Even attending a Lahu New Year celebration in Chiang Mai can be a rare and unforgettable journey.

ILF exists to help bring opportunity closer to home.

Our mission

To partner with Lahu villages to create sustainable livelihoods, expand educational opportunities, and preserve Lahu culture through community-led programs, resources, and celebrations.

Our vision

Thriving Lahu communities where families are economically self-reliant, children have access to education, and Lahu culture is preserved and celebrated for generations.
