About our leadership

Meet the people
guiding the mission.

International Lahu Foundation is led by three executives committed to compassionate service, responsible stewardship, trusted partnerships, and sustainable opportunity for Lahu communities.

Rudi Chamu, Chief Executive Officer of International Lahu Foundation

A legacy of perseverance, education & service

Meet Our Chief Executive Officer

My name is Rudi, and I came to the United States as an 18-year-old refugee with limited English. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities America provided. Through hard work and perseverance, I earned my GED, a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

I am also a former student of a boarding school in Thailand, where my father, Daniel Chamu, worked as a cook for more than 120 children. These students came from remote villages and lived away from their families so they could receive an education. Watching my father serve them with compassion gave me a heart for helping Lahu communities in the United States and abroad.

I joined the International Lahu Foundation through Nada and Dao. While working together, we discovered that my father and Dao’s father, Lor See, had been close friends in a refugee camp and shared a passion for serving the Lahu people. We realized that we carried the same vision as our fathers and felt called to continue their legacy.

The International Lahu Foundation was created to empower underserved Lahu communities, expand access to education and sustainable opportunities, and preserve our cultural heritage. We want future generations to have the resources they need to build successful lives while remaining connected to their identity.

Your support helps children and families overcome barriers, strengthen their communities, and create brighter futures. Together, we can continue this legacy of service and make a lasting difference for generations to come.

Nada Reinbold, Chief Financial Officer of International Lahu Foundation

A journey of faith, courage & service

Meet Our Chief Financial Officer

My name is Nada, and I was born to Lahu parents who grew up farming in the mountains of our ancestral homeland. In 1992, I arrived in California as a 14-year-old refugee with limited English but a strong desire to learn. Through hard work, faith, and determination, I embraced the opportunities America offered and found success through education and service.

Inspired by my father, a veteran of the Secret War in Laos, and my maternal grandfather, a respected military commander, I joined the United States Air Force after high school. Through my military service and the GI Bill, I earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, received a commission as an Air Force officer, and served as a Civil Engineer Officer. I later earned a Master of Science in Project Management.

My parents also taught me the importance of generosity and compassion. Although they had very little, they always found ways to help others. Their example inspired my commitment to serving underserved communities and creating opportunities for families in need.

Through the Lahu 50-Year Journey project, I met Dao, a dear friend and sister in Christ who shared my passion for serving the Lahu community. We later discovered that our fathers, Daniel Chamu and Lor See, had also shared a commitment to helping our people. Inspired by their legacy, we helped establish the International Lahu Foundation to empower future generations, preserve our cultural heritage, and create opportunities through education, service, and leadership.

Your support can provide educational opportunities, strengthen Lahu communities, and help preserve our culture and traditions for generations to come. Together, we can create lasting change.

A life rooted in faith, culture & service

Meet Our Vice President

My name is Dao, and I was born and raised in a rural Lahu village in Thailand. The house pictured here is where I grew up—a place that shaped my faith, values, and understanding of poverty, perseverance, and community. When I was about 11 years old, my family moved to the United States after God opened a path through my father’s ministry.

Learning English and adapting to a new culture were challenging, but I worked hard to earn bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Human Resource Management, complete a minor in Management, and later earn a Master of Business Administration. Although I have built a successful life in America, I remain deeply rooted in my Christian faith, Lahu culture, and heritage.

The International Lahu Foundation was inspired by the service of Nada’s father, Daniel Chamu, and my father, Lor See, who worked together to support Lahu communities in Thailand. We created this foundation to honor their legacy and continue their compassionate service for future generations.

The word “International” reflects our commitment to connecting and serving Lahu communities across borders. Through education, economic empowerment, and cultural preservation, we help families build sustainable futures and break the cycle of poverty without losing their identity.

Your donation continues this legacy by bringing hope, opportunity, and lasting change to Lahu families and communities.

With Love,
Vice President,
Dao See
