Piglet education & training

A healthy piglet begins with a prepared caregiver.

International Lahu Foundation’s goal is not simply to place piglets with pastoral families. Each participating pastor is expected to complete practical training in responsible pig care so the animals have the best opportunity to remain healthy, grow, and reproduce.

Training helps pastors understand daily feeding and clean water, safe housing and sanitation, basic health observation, illness prevention, breeding readiness, and when to ask an experienced farmer or animal-health professional for help. This knowledge helps turn a donated piglet into a livelihood families can responsibly build upon.

01Daily nutrition

Consistent feeding, clean water, and age-appropriate care.

02Clean, safe housing

Sanitation, shelter, ventilation, and a secure pen.

03Health awareness

Recognizing warning signs and seeking timely guidance.

04Responsible growth

Long-term care, healthy breeding, and practical recordkeeping.
